After obtaining a Degree in Management Sciences I worked for three years in banking. I then decided to improve my skills so as to take on a position of greater responsibility in the sector, and joined the 4th year of the ESAM. In 2005, I spent a semester at Staffordshire University (England), which was a really enriching experience. At the end of the year I obtained the university diploma and the ESAM state-approved Level II title (Master’s equivalent). In my 5th year I chose ‘Company Auditing’ as a major. The tightly-packed program, developed in partnership with Lille 2 University, prepares a double diploma at Master’s level. Although it is multidisciplinary, it remains vocational and offers students the opportunity to carry out a lengthy in-company assignment.
The result was very quick. Before my end-of-studies assignment was finished, I had been offered a permanent contract as an "Executive Business Consultant" in the HSBC group; the third largest bank in the world.
Thanks to the knowledge and skills acquired throughout my ESAM course, my career objectives have become a reality.

Having graduated with a degree in Law from Paris X Nanterre university, I enrolled at the ESAM in 2003.
I chose the ESAM firstly for its reputation and secondly for its comprehensive approach to business. In fact, at that time I did not have a precise idea of my career goals and the courses and options offered by the ESAM covered all company positions and departments. This teaching approach suited me perfectly. The different professional assignments in companies allowed me to define and build my career ambitions.
My professional experience was acquired in different companies specialized in recruitment: Vidal Associates and the Michael Page Group. Gradually, as I gained experience in the companies, I began to realise that Human Resources and recruitment in particular made up the ‘backbone’ of my career plans. During my various job interviews, my potential for entrepreneurship, ability to show commitment and my professional maturity were often recognized. It is these qualities, which I undoubtedly owe to the ESAM.
Today, I am in charge of candidate selection (Permanent Contracts and Executives) in a medium-sized recruitment agency, Staff Consultants.”

Throughout my studies, I really appreciated the quality and the diversity of the teaching staff, who were either university lecturers or working professionals (chartered accountants, auditors, consultants…).
It really helps the students take a practical approach to the subjects taught and we really appreciated the teachers sharing their experiences about the auditing profession.
We had numerous tasks to carry out in groups and then present orally under real working conditions: they prepared us for the actual demands of public speaking. For me personally, this was a real asset and prepared me for when I had to chair meetings or give presentations during my different in-company assignments. This hands-on experience gives us the opportunity to actively participate in company decision-making and endows us with greater professional efficiency. The block-release training formula allows for a wide variety of experience: a consultancy role, several in-company assignments or a one-off, lengthy assignment to really further our knowledge in a particular sector of activity.
Furthermore, ESAM’s broad recognition - whether academic, professional or university (partnership with Lille 2 University) - is a real plus when looking for a job. Today, I am in charge of Sales Management Control in the international clothing group NAF NAF.

After studying at university, the world of business remained an unknown entity. Apart for the double qualification it offered, the ‘Legal Engineering and Business Management’ major brought me: a knowledge of all areas of the company and not only legal affairs; a real awareness of the know-how and inter-personal skills needed for professional life, thanks to input from numerous professional teachers and a rich student life enjoyed with the other students in my year.
But above all, this training course, which is focussed on the professional and operational, is an excellent springboard to business and has allowed my to attain my current position as a legal advisor on tax issues at the BRED – Banque Populaire.

When I joined SODEXHO Health as an operations officer, I found a practical application for what I had learnt at the ESAM. Currently, I am Administration and Finance Manager of a SME where I am responsible for the organization and operational management of the company’s activities. "
